"It's done. My record's done." * That's Courtney Love in an Instagram video posted Friday evening, finally answering the question fans have been asking for years about her long-teased solo album †. In the same video she described going to England in 2019, landing in hospitals repeatedly, losing her hair, dropping to around 100 pounds, and being told by doctors she was going to die — a prognosis she says she flatly refused to accept *†.
THE DETAILS
- Love says she's healthy now and wrote and recorded most of the album around hospital stays, believing it would be her last record †.
- She tagged collaborators including Butch Walker, Melissa Auf der Maur, Billie Joe Armstrong, Eg White, Justin Parker, Suzy Shinn and Jonathan Daniel; Michael Stipe and Will Sergeant were revealed back in 2024 *.
- No title, label or release date — she said she's still figuring out the rollout *†, per Stereogum and Consequence on August 15.
- She called 2010's Nobody's Daughter a flop and recalled an 11 a.m. Pizza Hut Park slot under a Limp Bizkit and Thirty Seconds To Mars bill *†.
