THE ANNOUNCEMENT
Ghost is bringing the Skeletour to IMAX with *2 Big To Rig*, a straight concert film shot on 16mm during two sold-out Mexico City shows in September 2025 *†. Unlike 2024's *Rite Here Rite Now*, which mixed narrative scenes with live footage, this one strips away the storyline and focuses entirely on the ritual — plus behind-the-scenes crew prep *†. It's also the only pro-shot footage from the phone-free tour, hitting theaters and IMAX worldwide August 26 for a limited run *‡.
THE DETAILS
- Filmed at Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City across two nights with nearly 40,000 fans in attendance *
- Directed by Amir Chamdin and shot on 16mm film †§
- Features material from all six Ghost albums including 2025's *Skeletá*, plus non-album tracks "Mary On A Cross," "Kiss The Go-Goat," and "The Future Is A Foreign Land" *†
- Releases in cinemas and IMAX worldwide beginning Wednesday, August 26, 2026 for a limited time *‡
- Tickets on sale Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 2BigToRig.com *‡
- Produced by Tobias Forge, Kristen Mulderig, Rick Sales, Matilda E. Almeida, and Jessica Roulston †
- Trafalgar Releasing partnered on the film after *Rite Here Rite Now* became the number one hard rock cinema event in U.S. history *‡‡
WHY IT MATTERS
FAREWELL — Ghost is taking a well-publicized break after this release, and Tobias Forge has said he needs to be home with his 17-year-old kids before they're gone §‡‡. Shooting the final Skeletour shows on actual film stock instead of digital is a choice that signals this era meant something worth preserving the old way.
