My Chemical Romance Tease MCR5 as Gerard Way Promises Fans ‘Another Record’

WHAT WENT DOWN

My Chemical Romance closed their North American leg Sept. 12 at San Antonio's Alamodome, where Gerard Way told the crowd the band still wants to make another record *§. King Diamond turned up during "Mama" and knighted them onstage †.

THE DETAILS

  • Sept. 12, Alamodome, San Antonio — the last stadium night of the Long Live The Black Parade run *.
  • "You guys deserve another record. I don't know when it'll be. But it'll be awesome," Way said, with no timeline attached .
  • King Diamond, now a Texas resident, sang "Mama" in top hat and bishop's coat, then mock-knighted the band with a sword †.
  • The two-hour-45-minute set ended with "The Foundations of Decay," dedicated to co-producer Doug McKean *.
