Five Finger Death Punch just dropped "Eye of the Storm," their first original single since wrapping up those re-recorded Best Of compilations, and it's a monster *, †. The track lands as the lead single from their upcoming tenth studio album—currently being tracked in Los Angeles—and founding guitarist Zoltan Bathory promises the new material is heavier than anything they've done in years with a cinematic undertone running through it †, ‡. After three years to write and develop this record, the band whittled down nearly 30 songs to a final 14 or 15 tracks, even flirting with the idea of a double album before settling on a single release *, †, ‡. With 12 consecutive number-one singles on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart already under their belt—most recently "The End" from Best Of, Vol. 2 in 2025—the pressure's on, but FFDP sounds ready to prove they've still got plenty left in the tank *, †.
The timing couldn't be better: 2026 marks the band's 20th anniversary, and they're celebrating with a massive world tour kicking off July 20 in Camden, New Jersey *, †. The 48-city North American leg runs through October 23 in Bristow, Virginia, with country outlaw Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire along for the ride, and a portion of ticket sales will benefit U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes *, †. Early 2027 brings the European leg with Lamb of God and Bleed From Within rounding out the lineup †. Bathory—who wrote the music for the entire first album and most of the second—mentioned the band still has 25 to 26 worked-out musical ideas sitting in the vault, so don't expect them to slow down anytime soon *, ‡.
The new album will be their first collection of original material since 2022's AfterLife, following those controversial Best Of volumes that saw the band re-record their biggest hits after their original masters were sold without their knowledge *, †. Those compilations spawned chart-toppers like "I Refuse" featuring Maria Brink from In This Moment and "The End" with Babymetal—the latter becoming the first track featuring Japanese lyrics to chart at U.S. rock radio and hitting number one on the Japanese iTunes Metal chart †. Now with a full album announcement expected later this year and a lyric video for "Eye of the Storm" already live, Five Finger Death Punch is making it clear that two decades in, they're not coasting on nostalgia *, †, ‡.
