The Rock Fan Radio crew gets literally rocked in the head before diving into Down’s new single, “Blood Oath,” which one host calls “COC B sides” and another says sounds like “local town boys trying to sound like Pantera.” Plus, the Static-X drama is officially a full-blown metal soap opera! 🤘
LET’S GET ROCKIN’:
▸ The crew kicks things off with a story about getting rocked in the head by a foul tip during baseball practice.
▸ Down drops “Blood Oath,” their first new material since 2014, featuring members of Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, Eyehategod, and Crowbar.
▸ One host calls the new Down track “COC B sides” and gives it a “C plus.”
▸ Another host agrees, saying it’s “slow, methodic” and “no Pantera, that’s for sure.”
▸ The crew discusses how the new Down song sounds like “local town boys trying to sound like Pantera in all those bands from the nineties.”
▸ The Static-X saga heats up with former videographer Matt Zane alleging Edsel Dope is behind his social media bans and fears physical violence.
▸ One host calls the Static-X situation a “soap opera in the metal world” and a “rock opera,” with “no winners” as both sides are “getting dragged.”
▸ The crew is more interested in the unauthorized documentary about Wayne Static and Terra Ray than the band itself.
