Weezer Unveil ‘C.E.O.’ Single, Expand ‘Weezer: The Gathering’ Tour Dates

Weezer dropped "C.E.O.," and it's literally built as a musical rework of "Undone (The Sweater Song)" — with lyrics about veteran bands being pushed to rehash their old hits ^†. THE TAKE

A song that rewrites "Sweater Song" while complaining about being asked to rewrite "Sweater Song" is either very clever or exactly the problem — Weezer have earned skepticism on both counts. But live drum takes with all four in a room and Kenny Beats chasing violence is a genuinely different setup than the SZNZ laptop era, and Cuomo and Wilson co-writing for the first time since 1994 is the detail that actually matters here.
