WHAT THEY SAID
"We are making real music; we are not thinking about business. We are not thinking about if the people are gonna like it or not." * That is Eloy Casagrande on Slipknot's in-progress album, his first full cycle behind the kit, speaking to Camilo Guzmán on Colombia's Radiónica in an interview posted Oct. 16, 2026 *, †.
THE DETAILS
- Casagrande says the band has written a huge batch of songs and calls the studio mood relaxed and free of commercial pressure *, †.
- He joined in early 2024 after roughly 12 years in Sepultura, and said he worried about staying himself musically *, †.
- Clown first reminded him this is a metal band, then later asked him to throw Brazilian rhythms into the recordings *, †.
- "Arsenal" landed September 2026, the first release on the band's own (sic)est Records, and took heat from part of the fanbase †.
- The 2027 stadium run opens July 3 at Wembley and ends Sept. 16 in Bogotá, the first shows since Sid Wilson exited *.
WHO IS RIGHT
Jim Root is right that "Arsenal" is a standalone track and not the album †, but his jab asking critics what their band is doing † is a bad look. Fans do not need a discography to dislike a chorus.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
