CAVALERA CONSPIRACY Cancels HELLFEST Set Following Bus Crash

WHAT WENT DOWN

Cavalera Conspiracy pulled out of Hellfest on June 20 after their tour bus crashed the day before in France *. The band credited their driver with preventing what could have been a deadly wreck but hasn’t said whether anyone was injured *.

THE DETAILS

  • The accident happened June 19, one day after the band played Holland and one day before their scheduled Hellfest set in Clisson, France *
  • They were booked to perform Chaos AD in full at the festival *
  • Max and Iggor Cavalera posted that the driver’s skills prevented a deadly crash but offered no details on injuries to band or crew *
  • Hellfest separately canceled its closing fireworks due to a heatwave *
  • The band has Pantera support dates in August and a Slayer tour with Cannibal Corpse and Crowbar in November *

THE TAKE

The Cavaleras thanked the driver publicly but left the most important question—whether anyone was hurt—unanswered. They’re still scheduled to open for Pantera in two months *.
