THE ANNOUNCEMENT
Children of Bodom will co-headline Tuska Festival on July 2–4, 2027 in Helsinki, with Lost Society's Samy Elbanna handling guitar and vocals alongside original members Henkka Seppälä, Janne Wirman, Jaska Raatikainen, and early guitarist Alexander Kuoppala *. The same lineup that pulled off two sold-out tribute shows at Tavastia in February 2026 is back, continuing what Wirman called "the celebration" after Alexi Laiho's death in 2020 from alcohol-induced organ failure *. They'll also hit Provinssi Festival July 1–3 in Seinajoki before Tuska *.

WHY IT MATTERS
BUCKET LIST. This is one of the few chances to hear these songs played by the people who recorded them, with a frontman who Wirman said "knew everything" before the rest of the band even started remembering their own parts *. The fact that an Austrian booking agent had to fly to Helsinki and convince three guys with "just a legacy" to even consider this makes it clear these shows exist because someone pushed hard enough, not because there's a reunion tour machine behind it *.
