About
I was inspired by Slash playing a Les Paul. When he stood on the piano and rocked the solo to November Rain, I knew I had to start playing. I played in a regionally successful original and cover band that released a few records and have played on and off with friends for over 30 years. I'm a husband, dad, Ironman Triathlon finisher, sports and music fanatic, and I play speech language pathologist at my local community hospital.
Favorite Band(s)
Tool, Deftones, Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd and Rage Against the Machine are probably my Mt Rushmore of bands. I really enjoy lots of the last 15 years of metalcore bands (Architects, Periphery, ERRA, Currents, Born of Osiris... and this will piss off Parker, but I really like Sleep Token).
Least Favorite Band(s)
Anything Bro Country. GTFOH.
Best Show Ever
So many good ones! I'll go with the first time I saw Tool in December of 1996 in Atlanta supporting Aenima. Pretty small, gen ad venue that was absolutely on fire for them. Honorable mentions include A Day to Remember (we TP'd the concert hall!), Nothing More (the spinning 5-string bass they all played!), and They Might Be Giants in 1997 at 328 in Nashville. The conga line! The confetti cannon! The singing puppets! Never seen anything like it 🙂
