Wolfgang Van Halen Wants to Tour With Periphery
WHAT THEY SAID
"Their new album is my favorite album of the year so far. I think we both share a sense of melody. So, I would love to play with them."* Wolfgang Van Halen told Rock Sound at Download festival that he'd jump at the chance to tour MAMMOTH with Periphery, despite the bands operating in different sonic territories.
THE DETAILS
- Van Halen called Periphery's latest his favorite record of 2025 and said he's friends with the band*
- He and live guitarist Jon Jourdan have been writing MESHUGGAH-inspired demos on the road for fun, and the next MAMMOTH album will include songs influenced by that sound "through the lens of MAMMOTH"*
- MAMMOTH's third album *The End* dropped in October 2025 via BMG, recorded at the 5150 studio*
- Van Halen has said MESHUGGAH is his favorite band, played them at his wedding in 2023, and can play "Bleed" on drums*
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Whether Periphery or MAMMOTH's booking agents make this tour happen is the open question — Van Halen put it out there publicly, so now it's on the table.
