Adema Wrapping Up ‘Cruel Machine’ — First Album in Years
Adema is putting the finishing touches on *Cruel Machine*, their fifth studio album and first full-length in over a decade, set to drop later this year via Cleopatra Records *. The veteran nu-metal outfit has signed with Worldwide Entertainment Group and tapped David Gnozzi from MixbusTV to handle mixing duties *. The current three-piece lineup—Tim Fluckey on lead vocals and guitar, Mike Ransom on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Dave DeRoo on bass and backing vocals—has been grinding away at new material after years of lineup shuffles and sporadic releases *.
The band's revolving door finally seems to have settled, though it took some creative problem-solving to get here. Fluckey stepped up to the mic out of pure necessity when a previous singer went AWOL for days and shows were getting missed *. Ryan Shuck, who came over from Orgy and Julien-K in 2019, departed in February 2024, while original frontman Marky Chavez—half-brother of Korn's Jonathan Davis—has had his own on-again, off-again relationship with the band, first leaving in 2004, quitting again in 2011, and briefly returning in 2017 *. Since their last official release, the 2013 EP *Topple The Giants*, Adema has dropped singles "Ready To Die" in 2021 and "Violent Principles" in 2022, plus a three-song EP called *The Cerberus* that was sold exclusively on the 2023 Nu Metal Madness 2 tour *.
To support the new record, Adema will hit the road with Powerman 5000 across the US and join Soil and Finger Eleven for UK dates *. The album was originally titled *360 Degrees Of Separation* before the band settled on *Cruel Machine* *. Sandy Rizzo, who worked with Adema over 20 years ago during their early days, is back in the fold for this release *.
