THE DROP
My Chemical Romance have put “Someone Out There Loves You (Live from Hoboken)” on streaming, pulled from their October 24, 2007 show at Maxwell’s in New Jersey †. It is the song fans have called “Stay” for years, the untitled performance buried on the DVD half of The Black Parade Is Dead! †.
WHAT TO KNOW
– Previews The Black Parade (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition), out October 23 via Reprise, 20 tracks total †.
– Six bonus cuts: three from the Maxwell’s gig, plus studio tracks “Heaven Help Us,” “Kill All Your Friends” and “My Way Home Is Through You” *, †.
– Live “Dead!” and “The Sharpest Lives” round out the Hoboken material *, †.
– Rock Sound places the song between the Three Cheers and Black Parade eras, with hints of Conventional Weapons and Danger Days *.
– Artist James Jean returned with three new pieces †.
THE TAKE
Finally giving the fan-named “Stay” an official title and a streaming home is the right move, and the Rock Sound read on it, one foot in Three Cheers, one foot forward, explains why people have chased this bootleg for nearly two decades. The band say this is the first time everything finished during those sessions sits in one collection †. Worth noting the deluxe locks several bonus tracks behind the expensive formats *.
