Come Rock with us 🤘 as we talk about the last week in Rock. John and Brent of The Amplified Noise join us. Marilyn Manson’s new album dropped, and the crew’s got strong opinions on whether it’s a return to form – but the real buzz is his trial moving forward. Plus, new Rise Against singles and a CKY track that sounds totally different. 🔥
LET’S GET ROCKIN’:
▸ Rise Against dropped two new singles, “Katie Bar the Door” and “Living Undercover,” with one host finding them solid despite not liking their last album.
▸ One host has “problems” with Rise Against due to a personal history playing in bands with Tim from the band in high school.
▸ Marilyn Manson’s “One Assassination Under God, Chapter Two” is out, with one host praising its well-written songs and Manson’s vocals, calling “Lucifer’s Teardrop” “OG Manson.”
▸ The crew debates Manson’s discography, from “Antichrist Superstar” and “Mechanical Animals” to the “underrated” “Golden Age of Grotesque” and the “terrible” “Holywood.”
▸ One host saw Manson sober last year and noted a much better vocal performance and stage presence compared to previous “shit-faced” shows.
▸ Unfortunate news for Manson: a new trial is officially moving forward, prompting the crew to discuss supporting artists facing serious allegations.
▸ CKY’s new song, “Beware of the Heartless,” is described as sounding unlike anything they’ve done before, with an “80s vibe” and a “killer 80s guitar solo.”
▸ The hosts recall CKY’s origins with Bam Margera’s brother and the “Camp Kill Yourself” demo videos that predated Jackass.
▸ CKY has a new tour, with one host’s buddy’s band, Five By Five, opening for them in Ohio in December.
